Dr David B Anderson is a consultant physiotherapist with a wealth of experience in treating both acute and chronic spinal conditions. His journey as a clinician has spanned across diverse healthcare settings, including collaborative work with orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital, as well as the private multidisciplinary setting of the Sydney Spine Institute.
Dr Anderson’s clinical expertise includes the management of common and complex spinal pain conditions, particularly before and after spinal surgery. He has an intimate understanding of orthopaedic and spinal procedures, which enables him to implement the most effective, evidence-based protocols for the post-operative care of patients who have undergone spinal surgery. Additionally, his specialized training in Exercise Physiology places a strong emphasis on the prescription of exercise regimens and the management of chronic conditions, including but not limited to back pain and osteoarthritis. Dr. Anderson holds two master’s degrees—one in Physiotherapy and another in Clinical Exercise Physiology. His commitment to academic excellence has been recognized with the prestigious Dean’s Merit List Award.
Dr David B Anderson is also an academic and early career researcher in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney, with a focus on Cervical Myelopathy, Spinal Stenosis, and Placebo Methodology. His doctoral work centred on optimizing the management of lumbar spinal stenosis and included the design and execution of a world-leading trial in the field of spinal surgery.
