Spinal problems can be complex and often require the input of different specialists. Deciding who the right specialist is can be a challenging task for a lot of patients.
In most cases, your local GP would be in a position to assess your problem and recommend an appropriate specialist.
Additional pathways are available to patients who do not have a GP referral. These patients can see the spine medicine doctor for a general spinal assessment, or the specialist spine physiotherapist.
